AirdrieLIFE Magazine

Last Tuesday I was in Airdrie to shoot for Airdrie Life magazine. I was joined by a potentially new assistant who worked out quite nicely. I was asked to cover some action shots of the "bunnies" level ringette players and it was awesome. They are so fun to watch and they all were just having such a good time. The article and photos will be in the spring issue of AirdrieLIFE next month.

Albums

This year we are including some new albums to be available as an extra poduct with our wedding packages. They are nice leather layflat albums with a firm magnetic closure. Each album comes with 20 fully finished 8x8 prints.

Studio Tests

Had some time to create a setup I have wanted to try for some time now. And just like anything else, once the technology comes around, it can be done well.

The studio may be small but it has some power to it.

Torch Relay

Today I photographed the Vancouver 2010 Torch Relay for the Town Of Crossfield. It was fast and it was furious! I literaly had to fight through other acredited media just to get some good shots. It was fun though and great to be a part of this awesome event.

Busy Is Good

Well, so far this year, I have booked a few weddings, shot for one national magazine, signed on with two other magazines and have another magazine editorial to shoot. This year is looking good so far. I am also going to be selling some outdoor lifestyle and mountain photography at Spirit West in Calgary. I have been talking to the Calgary Mountain Club as well and they are asking for exclusive usage of one of my Mt. Yamnuska shots. Very Cool.

It is exciting being this busy so early in the year and getting back into the magazine work is where I want to be.

Tonight I did a quick product shoot for my buddy Derek. He is building these camera jib carts for use a the Vancouver Olympic for the outdoor film crews.

It's Over......

Wow, just finished a three day stint at the Calgary Motorcycle Show working as a fabricator for a buddy of mine. Derek Pauletto has been building unique custom cycles for a few years now and has gained international fame.

I have put images in national bike mags in the past with Dereks bikes and this week I will be contributing a 6 page spread in another national bike magazine. I will post images once they have run for 30 days.

Tim Milner Concert

I shot a concert in Crossfield tonight. I recently got to know Tim and am impressed by his desire to live a life more fully devoted to God. His band put on a great show tonight, its been a while since I shot a concert, but it was a good show and great music.

AirdrieLIFE Magazine

Just a quick note: The latest issue of AirdrieLIFE is out now and the cover is a shot of firefighter Mike Dingle. I have a few images on page 34 and am now listed as their newest contributer. Thanks to Kristy Reimer (who shot the cover) and the editor Sherry Shaw-Froggatt.

Lighting Test

I have been thinking of some new ideas for shooting sports as well as looking at other magazines to crossover lighting setups into sports which don't normally get lighting work. This afternoon we tested one setup at Spray Lakes above Canmore. The test went well and I am excited to start sending out new images to some national magazines.
